We host many teams throughout the year and can plan everything from the moment you reach Roatan.

MEI Short-Term Mission Encounter – Focus

Your MEI Short-Term Mission Encounter (STM) and is centered around a biblically based approach to poverty alleviation. You learn how you can walk with people who struggle with poverty in ways that lead to lasting change. The devotional teachings and outreach events center around – Helping Without Hurting in Short-Term Missions.

MEI Short-Term Mission Encounter – Overview

You can be as involved as you want, either allowing us to pick the schedule, or plan with us to create a custom plan perfect for your team. STMs are the perfect opportunity for churches and youth groups to serve and grow in a cross-cultural environment. MEI is uniquely set up to house and feed your team and provide a variety of ministry outreaches among the island communities.

Teams often participate in such outreach events as:

Home visitations and prayer
Children and Youth ministries
Discipleship/Leadership
Community projects
Local Bible study participation/leading
Partnering with indigenous churches
Assist with vocational training
Construction or other special projects (may involve additional fundraising to cover costs)

Step-By-Step Planning

MEI STM administrator partners with your STM Coordinator for smooth advance planning and arrangements.
All-inclusive flat fee for a one-week or two-week encounter, which includes all lodging, all meals, and all transportation expenses from Roatan, Honduras to Helene and back to Roatan. (these fees do not include airfare to Roatan, personal purchases & optional travel insurance).
Advance planning with location directors to plan outreach/ministry focuses and special projects if applicable.
